Senior Software Engineer (Healthcare Data)

What you will do

• Own the lifecycle of high-scale data applications, from the Snowflake data lake to customer-facing data retrieval interfaces.
• Design and maintain data pipelines using Python, PySpark, Prefect, and Airflow to ingest data from hundreds of sources into Snowflake.
• Transition data delivery toward Snowflake-native data sharing and high-performance Parquet extractions.
• Support EHR applications and data export features across Python backends and React frontends.
• Build code-driven infrastructure with Terraform, Spacelift, Docker, and GitLab CI/CD, using Datadog and Metaplane for observability.
• Collaborate with oncologists, product leaders, and data scientists to translate product and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience building scalable, production-grade software.
• High proficiency in Python and a deep understanding of relational databases; Snowflake is preferred.
• Ability to identify high-impact business problems and demonstrate empathy for internal and external customers.
• Ability to explain complex data flows to non-technical stakeholders and mentor junior engineers.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent foundational experience.
• Collaborative, passionate, and effective problem-solving approach at the intersection of software engineering and data platform architecture.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow, Prefect, PySpark, or Terraform.
• Experience with React or similar JavaScript frameworks for data-heavy internal tools.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, EMR, and EC2.
• Familiarity with healthcare data domains such as clinical, financial, or research data, and with provider workflows within an EHR.
• Open-source contributions or a passion for building developer tools.
