Java Developer (Mid-Level)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia; onsite preferred. Qualified remote candidates within the United States will be considered. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications and services.
• Translate business and technical requirements, user scenarios, and technical constraints into high-quality, tested software.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, system integrations, and integrations with COTS products across an established enterprise domain.
• Participate in architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, Agile planning, estimation, and development activities.
• Conduct code reviews, improve development standards, and support software quality, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and live production environments while collaborating with developers, analysts, testers, stakeholders, and customers.

Requirements

• Six years of software development experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Camel and strong experience developing applications using Java 8+ and J2EE technologies.
• Experience with the Spring Framework and enterprise application development.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, unit testing, refactoring, code reviews, build and deployment processes, automated testing, and code quality reviews.
• Experience integrating software features, systems, and COTS products across an established enterprise domain.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging deployed applications in live production environments.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL and PL/SQL queries, Linux/Unix environments, configuration management processes and tools, and source control tools such as Git.
• Ability to clearly convey issues, reports, and deliverables to team and customer counterparts.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States and ability to provide proof of employment eligibility upon hire. Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Java development experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful web services, and microservices architectures.
• Experience with continuous development and integration methodologies and tools.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and management about requirements, software features, and technical designs.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker.
• Experience with application monitoring and performance tuning.
