Ground Segment Systems Engineer (SATCOM)

Location: München Area, based at the Airbus site in Taufkirchen, Germany.

What you will do

• Develop concepts, designs, technical procurements, and modifications for SATCOMBw and EDRS ground segments supporting new customers and additional satellites.
• Track procurement activities from the Request for Proposal through development, acceptance, implementation, and operational go-live.
• Engineer requirements, interfaces, user and management data flows, and TM/TC interfaces using DOORS.
• Define requirements for ground stations, mission operation centers, spacecraft and payload control centers, networks, IT infrastructure, and data centers.
• Develop system trade-offs, support overall system architecture, and prepare verification, validation, and operations concepts.
• Provide technical support for testing, project planning, contractual changes, risks and opportunities, and operational anomaly resolution.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Microwave, Telecommunications, Electronics, or another related engineering discipline.
• Profound knowledge of ground segment engineering, including technical interfaces, user and management data flows, and secure and unsecured TM/TC engineering.
• Strong knowledge of communication engineering, including RF link budgets and antenna design.
• Strong experience with software-based systems, networks, and IT infrastructure.
• Experience in ground station engineering.
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, verifying, and operating ground systems, including associated processes and operational procedures.
• Business fluency in English and German.
