Senior Data Scientist (Delivery Pricing)

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany or Tallinn, Estonia

What you will do

• Develop pricing-engine solutions that optimise customer prices and courier earnings to improve marketplace efficiency.
• Build automated exploration pipelines, estimate price elasticities, and solve pricing optimisation problems.
• Apply predictive modelling, causal inference, econometrics, experimentation design, time-series forecasting, multi-armed bandits, and Bayesian experimental design.
• Build, deploy, validate, test, monitor, scale, and measure the impact of ML solutions for millions of users.
• Deploy models rapidly to production using AWS and internal machine-learning platforms, with Python, Spark, Presto, SageMaker, and Airflow.
• Collaborate with Pricing Analysts, Product Managers, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists to create end-to-end technical solutions and guide strategic decisions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, including at least 2 years focused on pricing-related challenges.
• Strong expertise in econometrics, experimentation design, and causal inference.
• Hands-on experience building ML systems end to end, including testing, monitoring, scaling, and measuring impact.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn for data analysis and modelling.
• Practical experience with statistical hypothesis testing and independently identifying problems, exploring trends, and discovering opportunities through data.
• Proactive approach, ability to take initiative and work with little supervision, and willingness to collaborate across product, analytics, and engineering.
• Excellent teamwork and strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex experimentation and causal inference.
• Product development experience in a technology company.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google App Engine.
• PhD in a quantitative field.
