Chief Financial Officer

Location: Onsite in Austin, TX, US

Salary: $300,000–$350,000 per year plus profit share

What you will do

• Own accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, tax, reporting, and strategic finance for the company.
• Manage, mentor, and develop the existing three-person finance and accounting team.
• Build scalable financial systems, reporting processes, internal controls, and executive-grade reporting.
• Lead cash planning, financial modeling, performance reporting, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team on capital allocation, pricing, margins, hiring plans, vendor and legal spend, and long-term strategy.
• Advise on independent growth, private investment, debt or equity financing, strategic partnerships, M&A, diligence readiness, and eventual public-company readiness.

Requirements

• Experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, Head of Finance, investment banker, strategic finance leader, or capital markets professional.
• Experience with public or private investment, including investor relations, equity or debt financing, M&A, growth equity, venture capital, private capital, or IPO/public-company readiness.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting operations, tax, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit readiness.
• Experience in high-growth technology, SaaS, API, AI, data infrastructure, developer tools, or usage-based business models.
• Ability to turn financial data into clear recommendations for founders and operators.
• Strong judgment, high ownership, and comfort building inside a lean company.
• Willingness to perform both strategic executive work and hands-on operating work.
• Clear written communication and strong async collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• CPA, MBA, public accounting, investment banking, transaction advisory, or strategic finance background.
• Experience preparing a private company for institutional investment, M&A, audit, IPO readiness, or public-company reporting.
• Experience with finance systems, ERP implementation, SaaS metrics, usage-based revenue models, 409A valuations, equity administration, board reporting, or investor materials.
• Experience working directly with founders, technical teams, or engineering-led companies.
