Tech Lead (Java)

What you will do

• Own high-level system design and architecture decisions for features, services, and platform components.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, trade-offs, estimates, and implementation approaches for tasks, initiatives, and projects.
• Contribute hands-on as an Individual Contributor to critical and complex parts of the system.
• Drive code quality, reusability, scalability, extensibility, engineering standards, and Definition of Done adherence.
• Support incident resolution and root cause analysis for complex production issues.
• Mentor engineers, support Personal Development Plans, and promote knowledge sharing and engineering culture improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including prior experience in a senior or lead engineering role.
• Proven experience with Java.
• Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems in product-based or B2B environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong system design, architectural thinking, and deep understanding of software engineering best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with effective technical communication across engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
• Ownership, accountability, and ability to work in cross-functional environments.
• Upper-Intermediate (B2+) English and Ukrainian or Russian.

Nice to have

• Experience with Scala.
• Experience in the iGaming domain.
