Lead Java Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, IL, US; hybrid

What you will do

• Develop scalable data and analytics platforms for large financial datasets.
• Provide technical leadership and coordinate distributed onshore and offshore engineering teams.
• Design data models and schemas and optimize platform performance.
• Build and support cloud-native architectures using GCP.
• Collaborate with business, QA, architecture, and stakeholder teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Java backend development.
• Strong experience with Apache Spark and large-scale data processing.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Spanner or other distributed databases.
• Experience with financial services or fintech data platforms.

Nice to have

• Full-stack development experience with Vue.js or modern UI frameworks.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
