Head of Workplace & Facilities (Robotics)

Company

Builds commercially scalable and safe hirify.global robots, including the HMND-01 platform deployed in real industrial environments.

What you will do

• Define the physical environment strategy across labs, workspaces, test and integration zones, prototype manufacturing areas, and offices.
• Translate technical and functional requirements into scalable space plans, design standards, layouts, and utility specifications.
• Own facility programme delivery from scoping and budgeting through contractor management, construction, and commissioning, including brownfield retrofits and fit-outs.
• Ensure infrastructure supports actuator assembly, subsystem integration, electronics rework, test rigs, prototyping, and low-volume builds.
• Lead workplace and office operations, including reception, visitor experience, access control, maintenance, infrastructure monitoring, and facility uptime.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, people, logistics, IT, workplace operations, and executive leadership on facilities strategy, capital planning, and space forecasting.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in facilities, technical operations, or capital project delivery within R&D or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience managing brownfield retrofits and complex fit-out programmes.
• Strong technical understanding of infrastructure for laboratories, prototype manufacturing, and mixed-use technical spaces.
• Experience overseeing general office operations, reception, and workplace experience functions.
• Fluency across building systems including power, HVAC, ventilation, ESD, and security, together with health and safety best practices.
• Highly organised, delivery-focused, and skilled in leading cross-functional capital programmes from start to finish.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, aerospace, automation, or electromechanical product development.
• Familiarity with ISO or cleanroom environments, build and test zones, or controlled laboratory standards.
• Experience building or scaling physical infrastructure in high-growth organisations.
• Experience with real estate strategy, landlord and tenant negotiations, or hybrid campus models.
