AI Architect

Location: Remote within the New York City Metropolitan Area, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, or Connecticut; onsite visits to client facilities and the NYC office once per week.

Base salary: $180,000–$200,000 annually plus bonuses; OTE up to $250,000.

AI delivery partner embedding engineering teams into financial services, healthcare, and other regulated enterprises to deploy production Claude and AWS systems.

What you will do

• Learn customer operating constraints from inside the business, rebuild functions from first principles, and build the resulting systems.
• Work as part of the customer’s team, owning the engagement method autonomously from framing through production.
• Use existing industry Blueprints as starting points and feed field learnings back into those systems.
• Deliver Cowork Activation, Agentic SDLC, and Blueprint Activations for financial services and healthcare customers.
• Shape enterprise AI adoption from strategy through first deployment and build tooling and frameworks for the AI delivery practice.

Requirements

• Typically 7+ years of software development experience, with substantial production coding accountability; hands-on work is required.
• Ability to understand another person’s job and become conversant in an unfamiliar business function quickly.
• Production experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems, including solving post-prototype engineering challenges.
• Experience building or owning an evaluation suite for a non-deterministic system, with the ability to explain the measurements and rationale.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to become productive in an unfamiliar codebase or language.
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Cloud-native AWS delivery experience, including operational ownership of systems inherited by other teams.
• Genuine pre-sales experience and credibility with senior stakeholders, including business unit heads and CTOs.
• Comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and underspecified engagements.
• Hands-on experience with Claude, Claude Code, and Cowork, including skills, workflows, MCP, integrations, connectors, and custom harnesses.

Nice to have

• Production experience with containers, Kubernetes or ECS, and CI/CD.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Open-source contributions or public writing on applied AI.
• GCP or Azure experience.
