Senior Cable Design Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Rehovot, Israel; relocation is not available.

The Israel organization develops, manufactures, and markets machine-learning- and computer-vision-based metrology and inspection products for wafer fabrication.

What you will do

• Own cable and harness design decisions, including cable architecture, interconnect strategy, cable technology, and connector selection.
• Design and maintain cable assemblies, electrical interconnects, cable BOMs, engineering drawings, specifications, and release documentation.
• Define connector interfaces, shielding, grounding, and EMC solutions for complex electromechanical semiconductor equipment.
• Troubleshoot cable, interconnect, manufacturing, and field issues; support pilot builds, production ramps, ECO implementation, and field resolution.
• Lead validation, qualification testing, failure analysis, supplier development, standardization, commonality, design-for-cost, and supply-chain improvement activities.
• Collaborate with module design, routing, manufacturing, sourcing, and supplier teams; mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional technical projects.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering diploma or equivalent technical education.
• 10+ years of experience in cable and harness design, electrical interconnects, or electromechanical systems.
• Experience designing static, dynamic, cleanroom, and vacuum-compatible cable assemblies.
• Experience creating cable BOMs, selecting connectors, preparing engineering documentation, and managing product release processes.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments and leading technical activities across functions.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor capital equipment design and development.
• Strong knowledge of cable technologies, connector systems, EMC, grounding, shielding, and motion-control applications.
• Experience with E3Series (E3S) or similar electrical design and documentation tools.
• Experience driving standardization, commonality, cost reduction, and design-for-manufacturing initiatives.
• Experience working with global suppliers on technical evaluations, qualification activities, and cost optimization programs.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, product lifecycle processes, and design control methodologies.
• Leadership skills for leading technical projects and influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
