System Validation Senior Staff Engineer (Ethernet)

What you will do

• Develop and execute functional testing for high-bandwidth Ethernet switching silicon systems across specification-defined conditions.
• Debug complex switching silicon and system platforms, focusing on Layer-1 issues, link-up flows, SerDes, signal integrity, link stability, and analog front-end behavior.
• Collaborate with software developers, hardware design engineers, architects, and operations teams to identify root causes of system-level issues.
• Improve validation flows through automation tools, modern methodologies, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of related professional experience, including 5+ years in high-speed I/O testing, debugging, and validation.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C#, with experience in automation and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of high-speed SerDes and equalization techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with electro-optic systems and L1/L2 Ethernet layers and standards.
• Knowledge of Memory, PCIe, and Ethernet system interfaces.
• Hands-on experience testing analog/digital systems and signal or power integrity using oscilloscopes, BERT analyzers, TDR/VNA, and similar lab equipment.
• Familiarity with Cadence and Allegro board CAD tools.
