Category Specialist - Malaysia

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; relocation and expatriate assignments are not considered.

What you will do

• Manage the full spectrum of procurement processes and activities, providing category management leadership and functional guidance.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies across direct and indirect categories, including Caltex retail station equipment, signage, maintenance, payment solutions, technology, marketing, logistics, packaging, professional services, and capital projects.
• Collaborate with management, business stakeholders, regional and local procurement teams, and external vendors to deliver commercial value.
• Ensure compliance with Procure-to-Pay processes and procedures.
• Support cross-country procurement initiatives and commercial leverage.
• Drive multiple initiatives to completion while influencing stakeholders and suppliers at all levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience. Relevant experience in marketing, services, and/or technology procurement is advantageous.
• Experience in category management, including category planning, contract management, supplier management, and negotiation.
• Experience developing and applying Total Cost of Ownership, should-cost modeling, and other category management techniques in strategic sourcing.
• Knowledge of commercial and financial analysis related to procurement activities.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a strong drive for performance and results.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of e-procurement; SAP capability is advantageous.
