Technical Accounting Project Manager (Energy)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; hybrid with 3 days per week in the office. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $113,500–$170,300 per year.

What you will do

• Research complex business transactions, prepare documentation, and provide accounting guidance.
• Evaluate and implement new or revised FASB, AICPA, SEC, and other agency rules.
• Integrate accounting standards into policies and processes and prepare corporate accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare technical accounting memos, response letters, and working-group materials for complex issues, non-recurring transactions, and exposure drafts.
• Design workflows supporting GAAP compliance and SEC disclosure requirements, and present emerging guidance and trends to business partners.
• Advise on business opportunities and energy-industry issues while coordinating with external auditors and accounting support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of progressive experience in Accounting or another related business field.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate projects, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate activities across functions.
• Willingness to take on responsibility and challenging work assignments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with financial systems.
• Strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of current GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• CPA certification upon hire.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• 1–3 years of previous supervisory or project management experience.
