Senior Automation Engineer, Falcon Complete (AI/Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote in Canada, including Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, British Columbia, Alberta, and Manitoba. Canadian-based employment requires legal entitlement to work in Canada.

Base salary: $150,000–$200,000 CAD per year, plus variable/incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end design and implementation of features and product enhancements for Falcon Complete managed detection and response.
• Architect deterministic and agentic automation pipelines combining service development, scripting, orchestration, and enrichment across security tools.
• Analyze complex security problems and deliver scalable, reliable, and performant automation solutions for enterprise operations.
• Partner with Falcon Complete analysts, engineering stakeholders, and other partners to gather feedback and build products and systems.
• Improve service monitoring, resiliency, quality, and operational efficiency; participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical systems 24/7.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code and design reviews, interviews, technology evaluation, and technical standards.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in automation engineering, scripting, or cybersecurity, with increasing technical complexity and leadership responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience and industry certifications may substitute for the degree.
• Professional experience with at least one of Golang, Python, JavaScript, C++, or Java, and willingness to use Golang and JavaScript.
• Experience with and foundational understanding of LLMs and agentic development systems.
• Practical experience building enterprise-quality web services or data pipelines at scale.
• Practical experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines for deployment.
• Operational knowledge of cloud technologies, including Postgres, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Leadership and mentoring experience, with strong written and verbal communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a highly asynchronous and remote environment, collaborate with people from different backgrounds, and use AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience building user interfaces, microservices, and high-level architectures for distributed and scalable systems.
• Cybersecurity experience with SOAR platforms, SIEM tools, the CrowdStrike Falcon platform, or security products.
• Unix fundamentals, PowerShell, data science, agentic training, or development of non-deterministic AI systems.
• Experience with prompt or context engineering, AI workflow optimization, cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI, and cloud observability tools.
• Interest in improving team productivity through automation, reliability, quality, and continuous learning.
