Company
develops artificial intelligence solutions for radiology, including generative AI products that support radiologists and healthcare systems.
What you will do
- Lead the Quality organization while keeping quality engineers embedded in product teams, establishing shared priorities, standards, operating cadence, and roadmap.
- Own the quality system, including risk assessment, test strategy, tooling, environments, CI integration, test case management, and coaching developers to own quality.
- Establish a risk-based release lifecycle with radiologist persona workflows, smoke-test standards, hotfix expectations, release-readiness criteria, and go/no-go processes.
- Improve customer-representative testing across Windows workstations, dictation systems, PACS/RIS integrations, site-specific configurations, exploratory testing, and manual testing.
- Define quality metrics, OKRs, dashboards, incident-prevention practices, root-cause standards, and quarterly quality reviews with Engineering and Product leadership.
- Build and develop the team, including hiring, coaching, career frameworks, tooling, vendors, test infrastructure, and the use of AI to expand quality efficiency.
Requirements
- 10+ years in software quality and test engineering, including 5+ years leading quality teams, with experience building and staffing a quality function as a company grows.
- Experience taking over a capable but inconsistent quality organization and raising standards across teams by spreading effective practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with end-to-end, API, and desktop or Electron UI automation in CI/CD pipelines, test environments, test architecture, and flaky-test root-cause analysis.
- Experience shifting quality left so engineers own quality while the Quality team builds the supporting system.
- Experience defining and improving quality metrics such as escaped defects, change failure rate, and test stability, and setting OKRs against them.
- Experience with risk-based testing for integration-heavy products across multiple customer configurations and environments, and the ability to build a long-term quality roadmap with engineering leaders.
- Excellent communication and influence across Engineering, Product, Support, and executive audiences without formal authority.
- Expertise in hiring and people management for distributed teams across time zones, including onboarding, career frameworks, and performance management.
- Experience managing quality tooling and vendor relationships, such as test management platforms, outsourced QA, or test environment providers.
- Ability to ask effective questions, start with the smallest valuable change, and use AI tools to make quality work faster and broader.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthtech or regulated environments involving HIPAA, PHI, or SOC 2, ideally including SaMD, IEC 62304, or ISO 14971 risk management.
- Familiarity with radiology workflows and systems such as PACS, RIS, EHR, PowerScribe, Fluency, HL7/FHIR, FHIRcast, or DICOM.
- Experience evaluating production ML or AI systems with non-deterministic outputs, such as speech recognition accuracy or generated-text quality.
- Experience owning performance, load, or reliability testing and partnering with incident management.
- Experience leading a multi-team quality organization that includes managers or Staff-level engineers.
- Experience building or scaling a quality function at a high-growth startup.
Culture & Benefits
- Mission-driven work focused on improving radiology, physician workflows, and patient care through AI.
- Culture emphasizing transparency, inclusion, and close collaboration.
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus HSA with employer match, FSA, and DCFSA.
- 401(k), 11 paid company holidays, flexible PTO, and an annual equipment stipend.
- Annual company-wide offsite and periodic team offsites.
