Supplier Engineer (based in Johor) (Semiconductor)

Location: Kulim, Malaysia; on-site at a supplier in Johore, Malaysia. Travel required 20% of the time.

What you will do

• Work with New Product Development teams to clarify engineering drawing requirements and communicate expectations to suppliers.
• Engage suppliers in specification development and review to support design for manufacturability.
• Investigate alternative manufacturing processes using project management skills and quality tools to reduce cost and improve quality and reliability.
• Support supplier selection, technical audits, performance evaluation, capability assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Resolve quality problems and incidents by driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assess supplier production readiness for transferred and new modules and recommend materials and qualified sources to Design Engineering.

Requirements

• Expanded conceptual knowledge in the relevant discipline and the ability to broaden capabilities.
• Understanding of key business drivers and their application to assigned work.
• Technical experience and judgment to solve straightforward problems and analyze possible solutions.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly in straightforward situations.
• Ability to provide informal guidance to new team members; no supervisory responsibilities are required.
