Process Safety and Risk Management (PS&RM) Lead Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Jhunan (Hsinchu II), Dayuan, or Hsinchu I, Taiwan, with routine visits to all Taiwan sites; approximately 10–20% travel within APAC and occasional international travel.

What you will do

• Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Dust Hazard Analyses (DHA) for routine revalidations and capital projects.
• Provide process safety subject-matter expertise on identifying, evaluating, and mitigating hazards involving toxic, flammable, explosive, reactive, and combustible dust materials and operations.
• Guide Taiwan sites in applying and interpreting Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP).
• Partner with site leadership, engineering, and EHS teams to improve process safety performance and reduce risks associated with high-hazard materials, technologies, and operations.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, internal and external assessments, incident investigations, incident classification, root cause analysis, and enterprise trend analysis.
• Contribute to corporate process safety training for engineering and operations personnel and mentor site-based facilitators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in process safety and risk management within high-hazard manufacturing or chemical processing environments.
• Strong working knowledge of international process safety standards and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience with HAZOP, LOPA, PHA, and DHA methodologies.
• Proven experience in process safety auditing, compliance assurance, and management system implementation.
• Ability to lead across functions and influence all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with effective facilitation and collaboration abilities.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Certified Process Safety Professional certification, such as CCPS or equivalent.
• Experience in project engineering and capital project risk reviews.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence in global, multicultural environments.
• Self-directed, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
