Product Applications Engineer (Semiconductor Wet Process)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; other locations in Taiwan may be considered. Requires hands-on cleanroom and laboratory work, customer support across Taiwan, and international travel up to 50% to the United States and other Asian markets.

What you will do

• Develop and validate wet process applications for customer and internal initiatives on WaferStorm and WaferEtch platforms.
• Execute experiments, prepare designs of experiments, analyze results, and present technical findings.
• Maintain and improve Best Known Methods for process control and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering, service, sales, and R&D teams to improve system performance and support customer and revenue goals.
• Support customer demonstrations and R&D projects in Taiwan and at the U.S. Applications Lab.
• Deliver technical presentations and training while following cleanroom, chemical-handling, and operational standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience, Master’s degree with 3 years, or equivalent PhD experience.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom fabs is preferred.
• Familiarity with metrology tools such as SEM, AFM, ellipsometers, profilometers, particle counters, and four-point probes.
• Basic troubleshooting knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to handle acids, bases, and solvents using PPE.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer management skills; effective written and verbal English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear cleanroom attire.
