TL;DR
Avionics Material Planner (Aerospace): Planning and managing materials for Terran R avionics hardware from development and qualification builds through flight production, with an accent on electronics supply chain execution, BOM-driven demand planning, and material readiness. Focus on identifying long-lead risks, managing engineering change impacts, coordinating contract manufacturer kitting, and improving MRP accuracy in ERP systems.
Location: Long Beach, California, United States
Salary: $100,800–$151,200 USD annually
Company
hirify.global develops Terran R rockets and related launch infrastructure to deliver customer payloads to orbit.
What you will do
Own end-to-end material planning for Terran R avionics assemblies, including EEE components, connectors, bare boards, wire, cable, PCBAs, wire harnesses, and box-level integration hardware.
Collaborate with Avionics Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Integration, Test, and Launch teams to derive demand from multi-level BOMs and build schedules.
Identify long-lead and high-risk materials using preliminary BOMs and engineering input, and recommend risk buys, early material authorizations, and buffer strategies.
Assess the impact of ECOs, ECNs, and part revisions on obsolescence, excess exposure, rework, scrap, and build effectivity.
Manage material flow to contract manufacturers and harness suppliers, including consigned and turnkey kitting, shortage tracking, constrained-component allocation, and clear-to-build readiness.
Develop avionics material forecasts and planning processes, support the transition from NPI to production, and improve MRP automation and ERP accuracy.
Requirements
4+ years of experience in material planning, demand planning, or production planning.
Direct experience planning avionics or high-reliability electronics hardware in the aerospace, defense, or space industry, including EEE components, PCBAs, wire harnesses, or electromechanical box-level assemblies.
Experience supporting products from NPI or development into production, planning against changing BOMs, and managing engineering-change impact across multiple builds.
Working knowledge of electronics supply chain dynamics, including component lead times and allocation, obsolescence, MOQs and reels, contract-manufacturer kitting, and part substitutions or alternates.
Strong understanding of MRP inputs and MRP functions within ERP systems such as Plex, Infor LN, SAP, or Oracle.
Nice to have
Familiarity with space-grade or high-reliability part requirements, including lot and date code control, traceability, screening, and counterfeit prevention.
Experience with design release processes and PLM systems and how they feed ERP.
Experience with SQL, Tableau, or advanced Excel for data analysis.
Culture & Benefits
Work in a cross-functional supply chain organization supporting aerospace hardware development and production.
Competitive salary and equity.
Generous paid time off and sick leave policy.
Parental leave and an annual learning and development stipend.
Equal opportunity workplace with reasonable accommodation available.
