Civil Estimator (AU Deep Foundations/Concrete Projects)

Location: WFH; required location: No Preference. Work schedule: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM AEST / 5:00 AM–2:00 PM PHT.

What you will do

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQs), using Bluebeam for measurements and quantity calculations.
• Estimate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for proposals, budgets, and tender submissions.
• Review project scope and documentation to identify requirements, cost risks, discrepancies, and value engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to clarify technical and estimating requirements while maintaining organized pricing and supporting records.
• Monitor industry pricing trends, update estimating databases, improve estimating processes, and support projects from small-scale works to large construction developments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or a similar role.
• Proven experience preparing BOQs and conducting detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam for takeoffs and measurement activities.
• Strong knowledge of concrete structures, reinforced concrete works, foundations, bases, and pylons.
• Familiarity with Australian construction standards and construction documentation.
• Experience estimating projects valued at approximately $100,000 to $10 million.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other construction estimating tools.
• Experience pricing landscaping and waterproofing works in Australia.
