Commercial Contracts Lawyer (AI)

Location: Remote in New South Wales, Australia; Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a visa with unrestricted Australian work rights required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Compensation: A$200,000–A$250,000 annually, plus equity and bonus compensation.

What you will do

• Review and negotiate US commercial contracts, identifying material obligations, risks, off-market terms, anomalies, and edge cases.
• Use hirify.global’s AI tooling across contracts while applying expert judgment where required.
• Collaborate with legal team members to interpret contract terms and resolve complex issues.
• Identify recurring review patterns and inefficiencies, then improve team workflows.
• Standardize recurring contract types and develop playbooks so legal judgment compounds across deals.
• Partner with engineering and operations to evolve the legal service delivery model.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one US state.
• Australian practising certificate, or foreign lawyer registration or eligibility to register.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a visa with unrestricted work rights.
• 4+ years of experience reviewing US commercial contracts in private practice or in-house.
• Impeccable attention to detail and sound commercial judgment, including the ability to identify buried clauses and incorrect cross-references and distinguish signal from noise.
• High standards for work quality and motivation to improve outcomes.
• Ability to embrace change and work confidently in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain difficult decisions simply.
