Educational Consultant (K-8 Math)

Location: Based in New York City, New York; candidates near EWR, ISP, JFK, or LGA airports are preferred. This is not a remote role. Travel up to 80% is required, including statewide and national travel, overnight stays, and transportation by car, plane, and/or public transportation.

Salary: $30–$65 per hour, depending on the assigned work. Compensation is also provided for professional development delivery, internal training, travel time, and travel expenses.

What you will do

• Become an expert in the company’s online diagnostic and instruction programs and Common Core products for grades K–8.
• Coordinate and deliver on-site product training and professional development for teachers and school administrators.
• Deliver training on implementing Ready and i-Ready to improve classroom learning and support equitable classrooms.
• Provide tailored support including lesson planning, pacing guidance, data analysis, instructional application, and implementation review.
• Participate in professional improvement activities, including observation, feedback, and coaching.
• Submit detailed training notes and complete assignments on time while maintaining a professional image with customers and prospects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in teaching, coaching teachers, and providing professional development.
• Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards for grades K–8, including content and practice standards, or comparable state standards.
• Fluency with digital tools and online assessments, with strong comfort discussing and applying data with teachers and leaders.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and their application to professional development.
• Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong time management, organizational skills, prioritization, and attention to detail.
• Excellent computer and internet skills, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort.
• Ability to work an as-needed, seasonal schedule during normal school hours and meet extensive travel requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching at the secondary level, grades 6–12.
• Knowledge of online meeting programs such as Zoom or WebEx.
• Bilingual ability.

• Temporary, part-time per-diem work scheduled according to customer demand, with peak periods from August through October and January through February.
