Delivery Manager (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada; regular travel required.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 USD annually or $109,000–$137,000 CAD annually.

Robots & Pencils is an applied AI engineering firm building AI co-workers that integrate into enterprise operations, with delivery centers in Canada, the United States, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of cross-functional software projects, managing scope, budget, timeline, quality, and delivery commitments.
• Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, delivery execution, releases, production readiness, and transitions into operations and maintenance.
• Manage dependencies, risks, scope changes, escalations, delivery KPIs, and trade-offs across scope, timeline, and budget.
• Support QA and UAT efforts and ensure outcomes meet agreed acceptance criteria.
• Serve as the primary delivery contact for clients, lead stakeholder forums, and communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to executive and non-technical audiences.
• Lead distributed teams, mentor delivery coordinators and project members, contribute to delivery practices and hiring decisions, and use AI tools such as Claude for planning, reporting, and documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software delivery, technical project management, or engineering leadership.
• Strong understanding of agile delivery practices, including Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience managing distributed teams across onshore and offshore locations.
• Ability to deliver multi-platform digital systems in agile environments.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
• Experience with delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and AI-enabled platforms.
• Demonstrable use of AI tools to improve delivery planning, reporting, and documentation, such as Claude.

Nice to have

• Scrum Master or equivalent certification.
• Experience in regulated environments such as utilities, government, or finance.
• Vertical experience in Consumer Products and Retail, Education, Energy, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Manufacturing.
• Experience delivering agentic, AI co-worker, or applied-AI initiatives in enterprise environments.
• Prior client-facing experience in engagement management, consulting, or account management.
