Director, Strategy & Growth (FinTech)

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 USD per year; bonus eligible

What you will do

• Lead strategic workstreams supporting enterprise and business-level growth plans through market intelligence, competitive analysis, client needs, and industry trends.
• Identify opportunities involving new offerings, markets, client relationships, growth platforms, technologies, and business models.
• Develop business cases, financial models, strategic recommendations, and executive-ready materials for resource allocation, investment, and portfolio decisions.
• Partner with business and functional teams to create actionable plans, milestones, responsibilities, performance measures, and course corrections.
• Lead execution of assigned initiatives, coordinate contributors, resolve workstream issues, and escalate broader risks and decisions.
• Assess potential partnerships, investments, and acquisitions while building consensus and coaching less-experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of relevant experience at a leading strategy consulting firm and/or in corporate strategy at a leading financial services firm.
• Direct corporate or business strategy experience is required, including work on where to compete, how to win, growth priorities, and resource allocation.
• Ability to independently lead strategy workstreams from problem framing and hypothesis development through analysis, recommendations, and executive-ready communication.
• Expertise in strategic analysis, including market sizing, competitive assessment, financial modeling, and evaluation of strategic alternatives and trade-offs.
• Ability to synthesize multiple information sources into strategic choices, business cases, and actionable recommendations.
• Understanding of how strategy connects with finance, product, technology, and operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations, complex information explanation, and fact-based consensus building.
• Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and translate recommendations into execution priorities; strong ownership, attention to detail, organizational skills, and risk escalation judgment.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

• MBA or another relevant advanced degree.
• Financial services or FinTech sector expertise.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and business models such as AI, tokenization, or digital financial infrastructure.
• Experience with enterprise growth strategy, portfolio strategy, or strategic investment assessments.
