Corporate Growth and Strategy Engagement Lead and Engagement Director

Location: New York, United States

Base salary: $230,000–$330,000 per year, plus variable and non-variable benefits.

What you will do

• Lead corporate, business-unit, growth strategy, market entry, value creation, operating model, and cost engagements from problem definition through recommendations and senior client communication.
• Structure ambiguous strategic questions into hypotheses, workplans, and analytical approaches, directing market, customer, competitor, financial, and operational analysis.
• Develop clear strategic choices, investment cases, and actionable plans for financial institutions and sponsor-backed businesses.
• Own client deliverables, engagement economics, resourcing, timelines, quality, and delivery risk, integrating data-driven and AI-supported analytics.
• Advise senior client leadership teams, build relationships, contribute to proposals and pitches, and identify new business opportunities.
• Lead and develop consulting teams while building propositions, intellectual property, delivery standards, tools, and the Corporate Strategy practice.

Requirements

• Significant experience in corporate strategy consulting, ideally from a leading strategy consultancy or the strategy practice of a wider firm.
• Experience leading strategy engagements end to end, including problem solving, analysis, recommendations, and senior client delivery.
• Financial Services experience, ideally in asset management, wealth management, insurance, banking, or adjacent sectors; genuine interest in developing sector expertise is required.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to move from evidence to insight, strategic choice, and clear recommendation.
• Credibility and confidence advising senior executives on consequential decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to and working directly with executive teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop consulting teams.
• Commercial appetite and genuine interest in building client relationships and originating new work.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, collaborative working style, interest in cross-platform capabilities, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Engagement Director candidates additionally need evidence of developing senior client relationships, contributing to winning new work, and helping build teams, propositions, or consulting capabilities, with appetite for greater ownership of origination and practice growth.
