Senior Director of UX (AI)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; hybrid schedule with three days per week in office. Relocation assistance is available for candidates open to moving to Atlanta. Applicants must already be authorized to work full time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $202,000–$229,000 annual base pay; annual incentive reference value is 30%.

What you will do

• Co-own the end-to-end experience vision and translate it into portfolio-level design direction, frameworks, and principles.
• Lead, hire, manage, mentor, and develop a growing team of product designers while remaining moderately hands-on as a player-coach.
• Personally lead complex, ambiguous, and high-stakes design initiatives across customer-facing experiences, internal tools, workflows, and platforms.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and UX Research leaders to shape strategy, roadmaps, prioritization, and executive alignment.
• Define cross-product frameworks, shared patterns, design-system governance, accessibility standards, and experience architecture.
• Build and scale the design practice through critique, mentorship, operating frameworks, and AI-assisted design methods.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design or UX experience and 4+ years in design leadership, including direct management and development of designers.
• Portfolio demonstrating portfolio- or organization-level design leadership, experience vision, strategic influence, and shipped products with measurable business and user outcomes.
• Experience designing multi-role, multi-touchpoint ecosystem products across customer-facing experiences and internal tooling.
• Experience co-owning product strategy with senior Product and Engineering leaders and shaping executive-level direction.
• Experience building or significantly evolving a design system and its governance, including embedded AI components across platforms.
• Exceptional storytelling, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to earn alignment from senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success hiring, mentoring, and developing senior and staff-level designers and improving design-practice capability.
• Deep fluency in user-centered design, accessibility standards, and interaction design across web and mobile platforms.
• Experience leading user research or partnering closely with dedicated researchers.
• Proficiency in Figma, Claude Code, Claude Design, and other modern AI prototyping tools, with demonstrated use and evaluation of AI in design workflows over the last 18 months.

Nice to have

• Background in complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software, CPG, retail, or ecommerce across multiple user roles, geographies, and touchpoints.
• Experience designing for or alongside AI-enabled and intelligent systems, including agentic, generative, or decision-intelligence experiences.
• Experience across both consumer-facing and internal tooling products.
• Experience helping establish or scale a design practice in a large, complex organization.
