Recruiter (AI/Fintech)

Location: On-site in New York, NY, United States or Toronto, ON, Canada; employees are expected to work in the office five days a week, with flexibility for occasional remote work or adjusted schedules when circumstances require it.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 base salary per year, plus potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Partner with EPD leaders and hiring managers to understand role requirements and organizational needs.
• Manage full-cycle recruiting across complex technical and cross-functional searches, from first contact through signed offer.
• Build targeted sourcing strategies and proactive pipelines before roles open by researching companies, teams, and candidates.
• Use AI tools across sourcing, outreach, research, and pipeline management.
• Own funnel metrics and recruiting infrastructure in Ashby, maintain data integrity, and identify bottlenecks using pipeline and pass-through data.
• Lead offer processes, advise on market strategy and compensation frameworks, challenge misaligned expectations, and negotiate and close candidates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience at a high-growth startup.
• Experience closing strong candidates in competitive markets, with a demonstrated track record.
• Ability to map talent markets, identify signals that distinguish exceptional candidates, and explain research- and pattern-based judgment.
• AI fluency, with AI embedded in sourcing, outreach, research, and pipeline work; ability to explain the recruiting setup, iterations, and measurable changes.
• High ownership, including independently identifying and fixing problems within scope.
• Ability to run candidate processes with urgency and care.

Nice to have

• Scale-up or start-up experience.
• Experience building recruiting infrastructure from scratch, including intake frameworks, scorecards, and sourcing playbooks.
• Demonstrated use of AI recruiting tools as a core stack with concrete before-and-after results.
