Security Programs Manager (Physical Security)

Location: Oak Ridge, TN; Albuquerque, NM; or Alameda, CA. Onsite physical security work across company facilities, with travel to other hirify.global locations up to 20%. Requires occasional overtime, rare weekend work, frequent schedule flexibility, and occasional extended hours for on-call responsibilities.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain companywide physical security strategies, policies, standards, procedures, post orders, and training materials.
• Oversee physical security operations across multiple sites, including access control, video surveillance, alarm monitoring, visitor management, badging, and access reviews.
• Manage contract security providers, scopes of work, staffing, service levels, performance metrics, invoices, budgets, and contract compliance.
• Lead or support investigations involving theft, unauthorized access, property damage, suspicious activity, policy violations, and other security incidents.
• Partner with Facilities, Construction, EHS, IT, Human Resources, Legal, Office Administration, site leadership, and local authorities on security requirements and operations.
• Evaluate threats, vulnerabilities, systems, and operational risks; recommend improvements and support emergency response, incident management, and crisis coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, emergency management, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in physical security management, corporate security, law enforcement, military security, or a related field.
• Experience developing and implementing physical security policies, procedures, standards, and programs.
• Experience managing physical security operations across multiple facilities, preferably in an office, laboratory, R&D, industrial, manufacturing, critical infrastructure, or other high-consequence environment.
• Experience managing contract security providers, vendor relationships, budgets, and service-level performance.
• Experience administering or overseeing access control, credential management, video surveillance, alarm monitoring, visitor management, and incident management technologies.
• Ability to lead security personnel and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with emergency response planning, incident management, emergency preparedness, incident command principles, crisis management, workplace violence prevention, and business continuity practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to evaluate threats and vulnerabilities, create risk-based corrective actions, develop scalable security documentation, and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, investigation, interviewing, documentation, report-writing, presentation, executive-briefing, interpersonal, customer-service, organizational, project-management, and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and investigative information with discretion and integrity and remain effective during emergencies or high-pressure situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, mission-driven environment and perform the listed physical and environmental duties, including operating vehicles or equipment, using hand tools, working at heights or in confined spaces, and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
• Must be authorized by the Department of Energy to access Part 810-controlled information; certain foreign nationals may require a Department of Energy export control license.
