Physical Security Lead (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY HQ; hybrid with 4 days per week in the NYC office. Travel 10–15%, with occasional evening and weekend events. Relocation expense coverage to NYC or SF may be available if needed.

Salary: $134.4K–$215K annually, plus equity. Final compensation depends on location and level.

What you will do

• Build and run the executive protection program, including protective risk assessments, residential security reviews, travel security, advance work, and provider management.
• Own security for internal and external events through risk-tiered intake, written plans, venue and vendor coordination, on-site leadership, and after-action reviews.
• Set physical security standards for access control, video surveillance, intercoms, visitor management, and alarm monitoring across offices and flexible hubs.
• Build security requirements into new offices, relocations, and expansions, including design reviews, integrator management, acceptance testing, and IT integration.
• Manage guard and security vendors through contracts, SLAs, KPIs, budgets, and performance reviews; maintain landlord and building-management relationships.
• Lead emergency preparedness, physical incident response, access governance, reporting, and the use of AI and automation to scale the program.

Requirements

• 6+ years of corporate or physical security experience, including 3+ years owning a security program or major workstream at a multi-site company.
• Hands-on depth in at least two of executive protection, event security, and physical security systems, with working knowledge of the third.
• Experience administering or deploying enterprise access control and video platforms such as Avigilon Alta/Openpath, Verkada, Genetec, or LenelS2, including networking and SSO collaboration with IT.
• Experience managing guard, protection, integrator, and event-staffing vendors through contracts, SLAs, budgets, and performance reviews.
• Strong risk judgment, concise technical and executive writing skills, and day-to-day use of AI tools.
• Willingness to work from the NYC office 4 days per week, travel 10–15%, support occasional evening and weekend events, and serve as primary on-call for physical security incidents.

Nice to have

• ASIS CPP or PSP, formal executive protection training, first aid, or Stop the Bleed certification.
• Experience in high-growth technology, fintech, or financial services companies with a high-profile founder or CEO.
• Experience writing office security design standards and reading architectural or low-voltage drawings.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, PCI DSS, or FedRAMP physical and environmental controls.
• Government protective, law enforcement, or military experience combined with corporate program ownership.
