Senior Manager, Lease Accounting

Salary: $149,000–$157,000 per year for New York; geographic-specific salary structures apply

What you will do

• Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations for lease-related accounts.
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, Accounts Payable, and other teams to gather and validate lease data.
• Review lease abstracts and ensure accurate capture of lease terms, rent commencement dates, renewal options, and incentives.
• Maintain lease accounting processes, calculate and support the incremental borrowing rate, and ensure compliance with ASC 842 and company policies.
• Lead the review, reconciliation, and audit of annual Common Area Maintenance statements and oversee timely lease-related payments.
• Support audits, financial disclosures, internal controls, special projects, process improvements, ERP and lease tool enhancements, and ad hoc analyses.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including specialized lease accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with a major lease accounting software platform, such as CoStar, LeaseQuery, or Tango Analytics.
• Expert-level knowledge of lease accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Excel including XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and SUMPRODUCT, and databases such as SQL or BigQuery.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
