Senior Java Developer (ICAM)

Location: Hybrid in McLean, Virginia, United States, with international travel. Active Secret security clearance is required; candidates must be eligible for Top Secret. H1B and OPT visa candidates are not accepted, and C2C candidates are not accepted.

hirify.global is helping a client hire a senior Java developer to build secure enterprise applications supporting Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM).

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, secure, and maintain enterprise Java applications for ICAM use cases.
• Lead Spring Boot and microservices development and build REST APIs integrating internal and third-party services.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases and develop scalable cloud-based solutions.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot incidents, optimize performance, and support application reliability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments using relevant DevOps tools.
• Apply security controls, support compliance requirements, participate in architecture decisions, and collaborate with architects, business analysts, product owners, and developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Java 11/17+, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, and enterprise application architecture.
• Microservices, REST APIs, JSON, and web services.
• SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, plus MongoDB.
• Cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes.
• Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ; Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Agile/Scrum, Git, monitoring, and logging tools.
• Experience building applications that meet NIST SP 800-53 and FedRAMP security controls, with knowledge of secure coding, OWASP, SonarQube, and Tenable.
• Active Secret security clearance and eligibility for Top Secret.

Nice to have

• Thales Luna HSM or Azure Managed HSM.
• PKCS#11, Java JCE/JCA providers, PKI, and certificate troubleshooting.
• Experience with encryption, digital signatures, key rotation, key escrow, and secure key storage.
• Identity and access management, credentialing, access control, and cryptographic integrations.
