SAP Technical Lead (S/4HANA)

Location: US-DE-Wilmington; other location: US-CO-Col Springs, United States

Salary: $127,680–$199,500 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for SAP projects, enhancements, integrations, modernization initiatives, and strategic business programs.
• Design scalable, secure, maintainable SAP solutions and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Develop and review solutions using ABAP, ABAP Objects, enhancements, interfaces, workflows, APIs, IDocs, OData, CDS Views, and related SAP technologies.
• Lead the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, including modern architecture, extensibility, custom-code optimization, and Clean Core practices.
• Establish technical standards, governance, documentation, development guidelines, quality controls, and best practices.
• Collaborate with functional teams, architects, business stakeholders, integration teams, and implementation partners while coaching and mentoring technical teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of SAP technical experience, including hands-on SAP development, technical solution design, and architecture.
• 3+ years of leadership experience providing technical direction, mentoring team members, driving solution design, and coordinating SAP development teams and delivery partners.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP, ABAP Objects, enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, workflows, IDocs, APIs, OData services, and CDS Views.
• Strong experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Strong understanding of SAP technical architecture, integrations, development standards, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience reviewing technical designs and code and establishing development standards and best practices.
• Experience collaborating with functional teams, solution architects, integration teams, business stakeholders, and external implementation partners.
• Ability to lead and mentor geographically distributed technical teams, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation, migration, upgrade, or modernization programs.
• Experience with SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, Fiori/UI5, RAP, and modern SAP extensibility approaches.
• Knowledge of SAP Clean Core principles, side-by-side extensibility, and custom-code optimization.
• Experience with SPDD/SPAU and SAP custom-code remediation during upgrades or transformation programs.
• Experience in a large, complex, global SAP environment.
• Experience coordinating onshore/offshore teams and external implementation or support partners.
• Relevant SAP certifications in ABAP, S/4HANA, BTP, or related SAP technologies.
