Team Lead, Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote, Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada; no employment sponsorship is provided.

Salary: CAD 110,000–130,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day execution and own delivery outcomes for a multidisciplinary engineering team, including onshore and offshore staff.
• Allocate resources with Business Unit stakeholders and align engineering priorities with business objectives.
• Define, adopt, and enforce Software Development Lifecycle practices, coding standards, test coverage targets, and engineering performance indicators.
• Lead hands-on adoption of AI tooling, including coding assistants, agents, code review, and test automation, while maintaining human accountability for shipped work.
• Design and develop software applications, create unit, component, and integration tests, and investigate technical issues and delivery risks.
• Provide functional leadership through feedback, performance reviews, training plans, recruitment, onboarding, and collaboration with architects and stakeholders on solution design and documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Proven technical team leadership experience with multidisciplinary onshore and offshore teams.
• Experience with multiple software development languages, including Java and TypeScript.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture and design principles.
• Experience with relational and non-relational database design.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Exceptional self-motivation, accountability, attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada; employment sponsorship is not available.
