Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: On-site in Orlando, Florida, United States; occasional travel to client locations. Work is typically performed in an office, with some time in the field and at client locations.

What you will do

• Design, evaluate, and plan mechanical systems for new facilities, additions, renovations, and varied market types.
• Develop HVAC system designs based on project scopes and client RFPs.
• Create construction drawings and specifications, write and edit project specifications, and conduct existing-system condition studies.
• Research building-code compliance and coordinate engineering work with other disciplines, clients, project teams, code officials, and contractors.
• Review junior engineers’ design calculations and equipment selections, provide guidance, and perform QA/QC of design documents, reports, and studies.
• Provide construction administration services and address mechanical issues through analytical, timely decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related science/engineering field.
• Florida PE License or a path to obtain it.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD, MS Office, and Building Codes.
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes, including ASHRAE and SMACNA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to organize, balance, and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to solve problems and make analytical, timely, well-considered decisions.
• Excellent work ethic and attitude.

Nice to have

• Minimum 3 years of design/engineering consulting experience.
