Sports Trader Intern (Sports Betting)

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States; hybrid program with required office presence five days per week and only occasional non-operational work from home. Weekend and out-of-hours weekday work may be required; candidates must be within commuting distance or willing to relocate to the Jersey City office.

Salary: $30 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Learn to use sports models to adjust live MLB and WNBA odds based on game events.
• Compile odds for different markets using statistics and trends, including player performance markets.
• Monitor prices and make adjustments based on player news, customer behavior, and industry prices.
• Collaborate with business teams to manage liabilities, onsite displays, and compliance across jurisdictions.
• Compare competitor offerings and contribute to additional projects during the internship.

Requirements

• Current sophomore or junior in a degree program with a numerate major, with at least one academic year remaining after the summer 2027 internship.
• U.S. work authorization and no requirement for employer sponsorship.
• Willingness to work in the office five times per week and to be within commuting distance of or relocate to Jersey City.
• Passion for sports and required understanding of MLB and/or WNBA rules.
• Availability for work outside normal weekday business hours and on weekends, with a maximum of five working days per week.
• Ability to acquire a New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement license and be at least 18 years old.
• At least intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to solve basic mental math problems under pressure.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one U.S. sport among NBA, NFL, NHL, NCAAF, or NCAAB.
• Strong written, verbal communication, and research skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
