ARPA-H Technical SETA - HSF/SSO

Location: Remote, Virginia, United States. U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required; an active Public Trust or ability to obtain one is required.

Salary: $125,000–$210,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide scientific and technical support to an ARPA-H Program Manager for cutting-edge research projects.
• Support the development of new research programs, methods, concepts, and operational processes.
• Advise ARPA-H performers and scientists using expertise in relevant technical fields and emerging technologies.
• Assess methods and technologies related to the development of technologies and devices.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and clinicians to translate research discoveries into real-world applications.
• Prepare briefings and documents, including strategic messaging for ARPA-H programs.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience directly supporting a DARPA Technical Office in a Technical SETA role.
• Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related technical field relevant to ARPA-H’s HSF and/or SSO Mission Offices, plus 3 or more years of full-time professional experience; or a master’s degree in a relevant discipline plus 5 or more years of full-time professional experience.
• Relevant expertise may include biotechnology, cancer biology, drug delivery and discovery, genomics, imaging, immunology, medical devices, molecular biology, ocular science, tissue engineering, virology, or related fields.
• Experience planning and developing complex research and development projects.
• Ability to conceive, plan, and conduct research involving complex problem areas, unconventional or novel approaches, and sophisticated research techniques.
• Ability to independently conduct analyses and provide recommendations, solutions, and alternatives for R&D issues, concerns, problems, or methods.
• Experience using advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices relevant to the area of expertise.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
• Active Public Trust or ability to obtain one.

• Commercialization experience.
• Experience preparing biomedical, scientific research, or healthcare briefings and documents, including strategic messaging development.
