Neuroscientist (AI/ML)

Location: Remote / Boston, MA; candidates based in the Boston or surrounding area are preferred, with remote work and office hubs in Boston, New York City, and Paris.

Base salary: $135,000–$183,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead and support the scientific and technical aspects of multiple concurrent clinical studies, including timeline estimation, task delegation, execution, and stakeholder communication.
• Partner directly with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical, and scientific stakeholders to align study needs with internal capabilities and deliver operationally feasible analyses.
• Design and execute analyses of clinical trial and real-world EEG data using statistical, computational, and neuroscientific expertise.
• Present analytical results and data visualizations to varied internal and external audiences and contribute to statistical analysis plans.
• Write and review reusable, documented code and co-author scientific reports.
• Curate, document, and harmonize large, unfamiliar datasets with Beacon’s Datastore while translating customer feedback into analytical, product, and model improvements.

Requirements

• Multiple years of experience using neuroscience and statistics to analyze data, draw insights, and answer scientific questions for stakeholders.
• Substantial experience presenting analyses to external audiences with varied backgrounds.
• Experience writing and reviewing code in a shared, version-controlled codebase with multiple contributors and users.
• Familiarity with statistical modeling, including interpretation and diagnostics.
• Strong data curation skills and an understanding that documented, well-curated data is required for reliable practical analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills, strong attention to detail, and high quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly customer-facing environment, stay organized amid ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines.
• Commitment to teamwork, close collaboration, open communication, and tight feedback loops.
• Comfort working successfully in a highly asynchronous hybrid work environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with or enthusiasm for Julia, AWS, Superset, Pandoc, SQL, and GraphQL.
