Field Application Scientist (Chromatics)

Location: Lexington, Massachusetts, USA; remote and on-site work. The role requires legal authorization to work for any employer in the U.S., approximately 20% travel, a valid driver's license, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Annual salary: $85,000–$95,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Provide software demonstrations, training, and technical support for customers.
• Investigate and analyze the needs of scientists in protein production, downstream processing, and analytics to support presales pitches and projects.
• Deliver scientific consulting and professional services, including data staging, training, requirements consolidation, and implementation testing.
• Oversee and coordinate hirify.global Chromatics pilot and deployment projects across the full project lifecycle, including project plans, scope, timelines, and budgets.
• Apply chromatography expertise to define new software functionalities and support customer solutions.
• Collaborate with the sales team through product expertise, scientific presentations, and demonstrations.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in biology, biotechnology, bioprocess development, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in the biopharma, biotechnology, or chromatography instrument industry.
• At least 2 years of hands-on chromatography experience, including data analysis, in biotherapeutics discovery, such as protein purification, developability assessment, downstream processing, or analytical development.
• Experience with instrument software platforms such as Chromeleon, Empower, Unicorn, or OpenLab.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Legal authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.
• Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 50 lb.
• Ability to travel approximately 20%, including overnight travel within the territory or to designated locations.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
