Cellular Workflow Automation Field Applications Scientist

Location: Remote home-office based role for candidates located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, the Mid-Atlantic region, and the Greater Boston area; overnight travel of up to 75% is required.

Salary: $105,000–$115,000 per year, including incentive and bonus pay.

What you will do

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales application support for automated cell culture and complex biology platforms.
• Conduct live product demonstrations, customer training, and troubleshooting.
• Work with research teams in academia, biotech, pharma, and government across cell line development, 2D and 3D cell biology, oncology, and gene editing.
• Optimize customer workflows, influence purchasing decisions, and drive adoption of complex biology solutions.
• Support microbial and mammalian colony-picking and other automated biology workflows.
• Travel overnight up to 75% and maintain the ability to lift approximately 30 pounds regularly.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Biological Sciences or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with laboratory automation, including automated liquid handlers.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with long-term cell culture, including iPSCs.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, time-management, communication, and presentation skills, supported by a solutions-oriented track record.
• Ability to prioritize activities and provide outstanding customer service.
• Creative ability, initiative, independence, and collaborative teamwork.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 75%, lift approximately 30 pounds regularly, and work from a home office.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice to have

• Experience with 3D biology, including organoids, spheroids, and tumoroids.
• Experience with automation scheduling software and image analysis.
• Customer-facing experience in field applications science or technical support.
