Computational Scientist (Bioinformatics)

What you will do

• Develop, refine, optimize, and apply computational analysis methods to single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, multiome, and other high-volume datasets.
• Analyze genomic and biological data to investigate disease pathogenesis, genetics, and biomarkers.
• Create analysis methods and documented, annotated source code for research teams and the broader scientific community.
• Develop data-visualization capabilities and produce visualizations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with scientists, project and data managers, and software engineers on analysis workflows and project planning.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of direct work experience.
• Fluency in Python and/or R.
• Understanding of biology, data science principles, statistics, and algorithms.
• Experience analyzing next-generation sequencing data, preferably single-cell RNA-seq data.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
