Systems Test Engineer (RF)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; must be able to work out of the Tempe, AZ office. Up to 10% travel. US Citizenship required and ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance.

Salary: $120,500–$190,000 annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $149,500–$224,500 annually.

What you will do

• Perform test engineering activities for RF/Microwave products, sub-assemblies, custom RF hardware, and flight hardware.
• Interpret test requirements, gather requirements with designers, and develop test plans, procedures, and calibration procedures.
• Design test-station hardware, select test equipment, create hardware bills of materials, and perform station calibration.
• Develop test software, hardware and software documentation, and support RF and digital testing.
• Test, troubleshoot, debug, and analyze results from hirify.global hardware.
• Collaborate with RF Design Engineers, Digital Engineers, manufacturing, and program management from requirements reviews through production readiness and production; train or mentor technicians and test engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of test automation and test development/design experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related program, or equivalent experience.
• Experience performing test development work.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or LabVIEW.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and incomplete requirements.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively both on a team and as an individual contributor.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance.
• Must be able to work out of the Tempe, Arizona office.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience in RF test system design and automation.
• Understanding of RF amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, and transceivers.
• Experience programming and controlling test equipment through SCPI commands.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Understanding of oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, noise figure meters, and signal generators.
• Experience working with FPGAs.
