Manager, Test Systems (Aerospace)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; onsite manufacturing and cleanroom testing with occasional off-site travel

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead a test engineering team supporting spacecraft modules, avionics, subsystems, and full-vehicle test campaigns.
• Develop test flows, test plans, automated procedures, and production test processes.
• Own test infrastructure, including software, automation frameworks, test racks, electrical and mechanical GSE, calibration, and configuration control.
• Coordinate assembly-to-test handoffs and align vehicle-level test objectives with integration and build leadership.
• Prepare environmental testing, including thermal, vibration, and thermal vacuum testing in cleanroom environments.
• Report test metrics, risks, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and Earned Value Management inputs to executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including leadership of technical test teams.
• Experience testing spacecraft systems involving electrical power, RF subsystems, sensors, actuators, and avionics.
• Strong knowledge of automated test systems, test software, test racks, and electrical/mechanical GSE.
• Familiarity with thermal, vibration, thermal vacuum, aerospace, military, and DoD test standards.
• U.S. citizenship or qualifying U.S. status and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW, TestStand, and/or Python-based test automation.
