Sr. Test Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Hawthorne, California, United States

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, define, and develop test processes for structural components, structural assemblies, avionics assemblies, electromechanical sub-assemblies, new technologies, and fully integrated lunar rovers.
• Design flexible test equipment, test setups, assembly tooling, and fabrication tooling from concept through implementation.
• Develop data acquisition systems and integrate data streams for seamless post-processing.
• Triage non-conformances, perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and support vehicle testing on and off site.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on product design, production systems, processes, facilities, project plans, and build and test documentation.
• Perform light fabrication and assembly, trade studies for capital equipment and tooling procurement, and direct interaction with customers and strategic partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field.
• 5+ years of experience working in production, R&D, or test operation environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with DAQ systems, setup and troubleshooting, and basic coding using LabVIEW, Python, or similar tools.
• Experience designing, assembling, integrating, and testing electromechanical systems.
• Experience developing and executing qualification and acceptance test campaigns for complex hardware or new technologies.
• Experience setting up and operating environmental test equipment, including TVAC and thermal chambers.
• Proficiency in electromechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated mastery of project management and associated tools.
• Proficiency with CAD modeling software such as NX or SolidWorks.
• Written documentation skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
