Sr. Platform Performance Support Engineer (Node.js)

What you will do

• Design platform mechanisms that ensure transaction integrity and availability across POS terminals, store middleware, and cloud services.
• Define and validate failure-mode strategies for intermittent connectivity, tier isolation, data replay, synchronization conflicts, graceful degradation, and cascading-failure prevention.
• Define latency budgets and performance envelopes, and build systems to measure throughput, concurrency limits, and resource saturation.
• Develop AI-enabled systems for automated performance and resilience validation, and integrate non-functional quality gates into CI/CD workflows.
• Architect structured telemetry and end-to-end transaction traceability across edge, store, and cloud tiers; improve root-cause detection and monitoring signal-to-noise ratio.
• Implement and deploy platform components in Node.js and companion services in Java, and drive production-readiness improvements based on performance data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• More than 6 years of professional experience in software development or L3 support roles using Java.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js.
• Experience in performance engineering, reliability engineering, or distributed systems architecture.
• Experience designing deterministic timeouts, retry and backoff strategies, circuit breakers, and concurrency controls.
• Experience modeling multi-tier systems across edge, middleware, and cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of SLOs, SLIs, and non-functional validation, with strong debugging and profiling skills for distributed systems.
• Experience deploying services in Kubernetes-based cloud environments.
• Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Git, Maven, Docker, MongoDB, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience building automated resilience or fault-injection systems.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or MQ.
• Experience implementing structured observability frameworks.
• Exposure to AI-enabled automation or workflow orchestration.
• Experience optimizing systems in intermittently connected environments.
• Frontend experience with JavaScript, Vue.js, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• Experience with Linux and Windows.
• Experience with Selenium or Cucumber.
