Senior Performance Appian Test Engineer (TS Clearance)

Location: Client Site - Reston, VA; onsite 4–5 days per week at a client SCIF. Other client sites are in Maryland and Washington, DC. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Salary: $97,756.00–$137,530.00 per year.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end performance testing strategies for a federal program.
• Design, develop, and execute performance test plans, scripts, and scenarios.
• Validate application scalability, reliability, throughput, and defined performance requirements.
• Analyze test results, performance data, logs, and system information to identify root causes across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Gather throughput and SLA requirements from business stakeholders and report performance findings.
• Mentor or advise junior performance engineers and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in performance testing within complex enterprise environments.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical consulting or client-facing role.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and executing performance test plans, scripts, and scenarios, including results analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency with performance testing tools such as JMeter and Groovy.
• Strong understanding of response time, throughput, concurrency, and resource utilization metrics.
• Experience analyzing performance data and identifying root causes across application, database, and infrastructure layers; proficiency in SQL queries and stored procedures; and knowledge of data objects and data architecture.
• Experience gathering throughput and SLA requirements from business stakeholders and analyzing Appian logs and system information to diagnose performance issues.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Active Top Secret security clearance required; must be able to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
• Must be a U.S. citizen in accordance with contract requirements and able to work onsite 4–5 days at a client SCIF location.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience performance testing Appian applications.
• Federal experience.
• Existing SCI/CI Polygraph clearance.
