Principal, SW Quality Eng (Securities Finance)

Salary: $114,700–$194,900 USD base pay.

What you will do

• Define and drive Securities Finance quality engineering strategy across functional, integration, regression, data, API, performance, and other non-functional testing.
• Lead end-to-end test cycles across interconnected applications and global teams, including defect triage, risk assessment, root-cause analysis, mitigation, and release-readiness reporting.
• Build, optimize, and maintain reusable automation frameworks and regression suites, expanding coverage for high-value and high-risk workflows.
• Integrate automated quality checks into CI/CD pipelines and lead validation across databases, ETL/ELT pipelines, reporting, and downstream processing.
• Design and execute API, microservices, integration, scalability, resiliency, proof-of-concept, and feasibility testing.
• Mentor distributed teams, establish engineering standards, define quality metrics, and communicate execution, defect, automation, and delivery status to technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong Securities Finance domain knowledge, including securities lending, borrowing, or financing workflows and lifecycle events such as trade capture, inventory, collateral, pricing, settlement, recalls, returns, corporate actions, and downstream processing.
• 14 years of relevant software quality engineering, testing, or technology delivery experience, including senior technical or quality leadership responsibilities.
• Experience designing and governing end-to-end test strategies for large, integrated financial systems and leading quality engineering for complex, business-critical financial systems and multi-team programs.
• Expertise building and extending scalable automation frameworks with modern programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Experience with BDD/TDD and tools such as Cucumber and Selenium or comparable modern automation technologies.
• Experience integrating automated quality checks with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or comparable delivery pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills and experience validating relational or analytical databases, data warehouses, ETL/ELT processing, and complex data flows.
• Strong experience testing APIs, microservices, service interfaces, integration flows, and data-layer behavior.
• Experience planning and executing application- or program-level performance, scalability, and resiliency testing, with the ability to diagnose systemic defects and recommend strategic improvements.
• Proven ability to communicate quality risk, technical decisions, and delivery status to technical and non-technical stakeholders; comfortable balancing hands-on engineering with strategic leadership and delivery accountability.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud and modern data platforms, including Azure-based services.
• Experience modernizing legacy test suites into reusable, maintainable automation capabilities.
• Experience supporting regulatory, control-sensitive, or audit-focused technology delivery in financial services.
• Azure or relevant quality or engineering certification.
