Principal Software Development Engineer in Test (C#/.NET)

Location: Mansfield, MA, with 1–2 days a week in the office; US role.

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, maintain, and evolve scalable enterprise-level test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
• Lead migration of existing automation frameworks, test suites, and infrastructure to modern testing platforms.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation engineers and SDET teams, including code reviews, standards, and best practices.
• Build and maintain ephemeral and containerized test environments, including parallel and distributed test execution capabilities.
• Drive Shift-Left testing, continuous testing, CI/CD integration, and quality validation across the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development, architecture, DevOps, QA, and stakeholders on system reliability, API and integration testing, technical documentation, and automation strategy.

Requirements

• 8–15 years of hands-on experience in SDET, automation engineering, or quality engineering.
• BE in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong experience designing enterprise automation frameworks and scalable automation infrastructure.
• Expertise in Playwright automation with C#/.NET, including framework design, tooling, infrastructure, and parallel execution; strong C#/.NET and object-oriented programming expertise.
• Strong experience with REST API automation, service-layer validation, integration testing, HTTP/HTTPS, and secure communication protocols including TLS.
• Strong understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Server, database testing, data integrity validation, backend verification, and end-to-end data flows.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, ephemeral environments, containerized execution, and integrating ephemeral environments into CI/CD and automated testing workflows.
• Experience with Shift-Left testing, CI/CD tools, build management, cloud-native platforms, DevOps, Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.
• Experience with systems architecture, distributed application design, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, AWS, TeamCity, Microsoft Office, and Confluence.
• Ability to analyze complex systems, recommend automation technologies and strategies, lead organization-wide automation initiatives, and provide end-to-end technical leadership for testing engagements.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and technical documentation skills in English.
