Senior QA Automation Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Salary: Base salary of $90,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead QA strategies, frameworks, automated test plans, quality metrics, and automation roadmaps across multiple products.
• Design, develop, and evolve scalable automated testing frameworks using Playwright and JavaScript, covering backend, frontend, and infrastructure components.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with quality gates and feedback mechanisms across environments.
• Improve automation reliability, maintainability, execution speed, and coverage; diagnose flaky tests, automation failures, and complex application or environment issues.
• Contribute to automated security checks, including SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning, in CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor junior QA and automation engineers, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with software engineering, product, security, and QA teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, SDET, or a similar role.
• Strong experience designing and developing automated tests for modern web applications.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, preferably using JavaScript or TypeScript, with emphasis on scalable automation frameworks rather than only individual test cases.
• Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and negative testing methodologies.
• Strong experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, and with source-control workflows.
• Experience testing complex applications involving role-based access controls, permissions, multi-tenant environments, or security policies.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing constructive technical feedback through code reviews.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cypress, Selenium, Jest, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or similar technologies.
• Experience in security-critical, high-availability, or infrastructure-heavy systems.
• Familiarity with API security, authentication flows, and data protection practices.
• Experience leading QA initiatives in Agile environments.
• Familiarity with security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, SAST, or DAST.
• QA certification such as ISTQB or security certification such as OSCP, CEH, or CSSLP.
• Experience with SaaS platforms or networking-intensive solutions.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security and compliance, including FedRAMP, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
