Senior Staff Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Deliver high-quality software, including requirements, design, code, and documentation, for the Catapult AI-assisted risk investigation and remediation system.
• Design and develop well-architected backend solutions for large-scale, cloud-distributed systems.
• Support production systems through monitoring, issue remediation, and participation in peer reviews and early quality activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with hirify.global teams and occasionally engage with customers to understand their needs.
• Mentor team members, share engineering practices and emerging technologies, and contribute to positive team dynamics.

Requirements

• 10 years of hands-on experience developing in Java and modern frameworks.
• Strong proven experience in large-scale software architecture and design for cloud-distributed systems.
• Strong foundations in AI and LLM trends, methodologies, and design patterns.
• Solid software development fundamentals and strong backend architectural understanding.
• Experience solving high-scale problems in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and DevOps technologies, including Kubernetes, CI/CD, and AWS.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Customer-focused mindset, ability to prioritize customer pain points, understand user journeys, work independently, multitask, adapt to different technology stacks, and meet deadlines.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams while maintaining effective working relationships.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
