Senior Software Engineering Manager (Automotive)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; 100% telecommuting available; 10% domestic travel required.

What you will do

• Lead, guide, and direct a large engineering organization responsible for software deliverables supporting business objectives and the Vehicle Development Process.
• Supervise 3 People Leaders and 12 Individual Contributors across software engineering, software testing, quality engineering, and full-stack development.
• Provide technical leadership for application architecture, design, development processes, reliability, performance, scalability, and system quality.
• Lead new methods, initiatives, best practices, talent management, and quality and development process improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to align technology with business goals and user needs.
• Host technical discussions, remove roadblocks, provide feedback, conduct performance interventions, and participate in compensation planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field.
• Eight years of experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, or in a related role.
• Five years of experience in application and services development.
• Five years of experience contributing to the architecture, documentation, and design of new and existing systems, including architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Five years of experience creating intuitive, responsive UIs with HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
• Five years of experience designing scalable architectures combining frontend, backend, and graphics components.
• Five years of experience creating and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Five years of experience deploying scalable visualization services using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Five years of experience with C++, Java, TypeScript, C#, and Python, including the ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
